James Sulzer
James Sulzer is the author of the middle-grade thriller The Card People and its two sequels, The Card People 2: Identity Swap and The Card People 3: Crisis. He is also the author of the critically acclaimed novel The Voice at the Door: A Novel of Emily Dickinson and the brand new novel Writ in Water: A Novel of John Keats, which is garnering rave reviews from critics and readers alike. James lives on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, where he taught reading and writing to students in grades 5-8. A graduate of Yale University, where he was a Yale National Scholar, he is also the author of Nantucket Daybreak (Walker and Co.) and the memoir Mom Comes Home. He has produced countless Sonic IDs for National Public Radio, some of which aired on Ira Glass’s This American Life. He has spent the past 40 years of his life reading, living with, and cherishing the poetry of Emily Dickinson.
