Meet Larry Buchanan and Karen Gans, the authors of The Gift of El Tío on Sunday afternoon, December 5th from 2-4 at the Ashland Library, Gresham room.
When Larry Buchanan, a world-renowned geologist, discovers an enormous deposit of silver beneath a remote Quechua village in Bolivia, he unknowingly fulfills a 400-year-old prophecy that promised a life of wealth for the villagers.
The discovery leads to the destruction of the village and sends the geologist and his wife, Karen Gans, on a life-changing journey into the Quechua culture. The dual authorship of The Gift of El Tío allows husband and wife to present conflicting points of view on the emotionally-charged experience they shared.
See how life is lived 13,500 feet high in the Bolivian Andes!

August 2010
Molly will be speaking to two book groups in early august in Portland, OR. The first is a newly-formed group from all walks of life who have avid reading in common. The responses from those who have read or are reading Satan’s Chamber are very positive!
The second is a well-established book club that meets monthly and reads a variety of books, both fiction and non-fiction. The group is excited to read a novel that emphasizes another culture and especially to have Molly discuss the writing process as well as the book itself.
